McAfee.com Receives U.S. Patent for Delivering Software-as-a-Web Service: McAfee.com announced Monday that it has been granted a patent by the U.S. Patent Office covering the company's method of delivering software as a service through Web browsers, according to an article at InfoWorld. Srivats Sampath, CEO of McAfee.com made a statement regarding licensing the technology to other companies, "You either work with us, or you work around this patent". It seems as though many businesses we have been reporting about here on The End of Free could be affected depending on the terms of the patent.
