Yahoo to start charging for online dating service: "Yahoo! Inc Friday said it would start charging a fee for Yahoo! Personals, its popular online dating service that has been available for free for the past four years. Although the company will still let visitors scan the ads, post an ad of their own, or answer replies they receive at no cost, those wishing to initiate a conversation with someone who has posted an ad will have to pay to do so. Under a new fee structure being adopted on October 3, Yahoo will charge a $19.99 monthly fee for membership to its ClubConnect service, enabling members to respond to any ad posted on its site."
