Yahoo's previously reported efforts to convert Geocities users to their new paid offerings have ratched up a notch. CNET reports today that there are now bandwidth restrictions for Geocities Free users:

'Shortly, all free member sites transferring more than the allowable data limit will be disabled for portions of the day until usage falls to within the prescribed limits...'
