FAQs-org no longer has funding, asks for donations, sponsorships: "FAQS.org has been supplying services to the Usenet and Internet communities since June, 1996. It has focused on being an advertisement-free zone as that is what the community and the authors wanted. I respected their desires. In retrospect, it might have been wise to provide limited advertisements but that is a sad statement on where the Internet and economy went... Please, if you have benefited from faqs.org in any way, take the time now to send a contribution to faqs.org. It doesn't matter how large, every little bit will help."

This was posted on October 10, but there's no indication of how much is needed, or how many people contributed, to keep this big FAQ archive alive.
