Is TheEndOfFree a "sad, sad blog?"
That's how David Weinberger put it. Are we publishing only bad news? David thinks many of these companies are "Jumping the Slug", or "making a business go all boring when its original formula starts to fail." It's true enough that many free-to-fee transition announcements sounded neither inspired nor inspiring. But if the alternative is watching these companies disappear altogether, we might as well wait and see whether they're able to bounce back.
