Wired news clarifies that Palm is scaling back the PIM offerings of their MyPalm portal, not shutting it down:

The original memo made it sound like Palm was shutting down the portal altogether... but Palm spokeswoman Marlene Somsak assured customers it was simply a "bad memo."
"Right now we have to focus on (what will generate) a return on our investment, and the (online) calendar for MyPalm doesn't make the grade."
