The end of free Web-SMS is announced by Universal Communication Platform Gmbh. Their internet platforms SMS.at and UBoot are among the most visited in Austria and Germany, mainly used for sending free SMS.

Charging for SMS will start in summer this year. One reason for it are the more expensive SMS-contigents from Austrian and German cellular phone networks.
