PC World Alerts notification service ends, as announced to its users on April 29 by e-mail: "For all of you who have enjoyed the convenience provided by our PC World Alerts notification service, we regret to inform you that this feature will be discontinued effective May 12, 2002. In the interim, you will continue to receive your usual alerts as established in your subscription. You will also be able to access and modify your online Alerts subscription account normally. As an alternative to Alerts, we would like to suggest a subscription to one or more of our newsletters."
