ZDNet: What makes you think you deserve free Internet anything?: "One of the things most people don't think about is how some of the money that has vanished from the Nasdaq went to buy free stuff for Internet users. Free DSL, free e-mail, free content, free contests, free music--all paid for with someone else's dollars in hopes a shower of cash would someday fall from the sky and into the pockets of greedy venture capitalists.

"NEWS FLASH: You didn't deserve all that free stuff--neither did I--and now it's going the way of all good things. Users are being asked to pony up for things that used to be free."
