Webshots co-founders buy back online service at $80 million discount: "To generate revenue, Webshots plans to charge fees for some services. The rates have yet to be determined. Many services will remain free for the site's 13 million registered users, [co-founder and again-owner] Laakmann said."

At least one site, Digital Blasphemy, already sells desktop wallpapers (on top of a free gallery).

Also interesting is the trend of founders that buy back their company at a steep discount (see for instance Webring, Buy.com).
