The Deep-Linking Effect?: Robert Spears asks about the "long-term effects deep-linking may have on building viable online content businesses." (For context, some sites have been trying to prevent people from deep-linking to them). Opinions are welcome on our board, especially if you happen to run a site and your business model benefits from deep links or at the contrary is hurt by them (though the later seems quite less likely to me.)

06/28/02 update: Ryze's founder and CEO Adrian Scott thinks deep links are good for business. Granular pages are magnets for search engines and deep links coming from weblogs or e-mails. What you show on them can be different for anonymous, registered, or paying visitors (e.g. if you're not a Ryze member you can access members' pages but you can't message their owners.)
